Using DSP in Home Decor Projects

Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper isn't just for card making and scrapbooking. Put it to use in your home decor projects.

Here is my latest home decor project. I had a bare wall in my new home and just couldn't find something I loved for this space. So after 18 months of looking at this bare wall, I started thinking what can I make to fill that space until I find something that really speaks to me, something more permanent. This is what I came up with. I adhered 6 sheets of Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper to 12" x 12" stretched canvases. I love how they turned out, and I had so much fun making them. I found a new way to use some of my Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper for an easy to make home decor project that costs just a few dollars. Now, I have something pretty to look at instead of a bare wall, and am getting lots of compliments on it too. And best of all, it's such an inexpensive project that I can change it out at any time without feeling guilty. I can change it out to coordinate with the seasons, holidays, or new accent pillows if I choose. And when I find something more permanent for this wall, I will likely find a new place for this wall collection.

Kids Crafting

With so many more parents home with children right now, I thought in the coming weeks, I would share some kids craft ideas. In the following Facebook Live Video Replay, I show 4 different ways to craft Tic-Tac-Toe boards & pieces for kids from preschool and up. Watch my video, then gather some supplies with your kiddos and make your own Tic-Tac-Toe games with ideas and tips I shared. Remember in these stressful times of Covid-19, we are all having to make changes in our daily lives. Connecting with others in new ways is more important than ever for us to find calm in this storm. Happy crafting and happy gaming!

I repurposed a box that a Stampin' Up! All-Inclusive Card Kit came in to make a Tic-Tac-Toe game in. Game & storage all in one!Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

No box to make your Tic-Tac-Toe game board in? No worries. My video tutorial will show you how to make a game board that is scored and cut to fold up and store in ziploc bag with your game pieces. Stampin' Up! Full Wide Stamp Cases are great for making "travel style" Tic-Tac-Toe games. Plus they too are a "game & storage in one" craft. Just add magnet sheet.Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, Come Sail Away Trinkets, & Full Wide Stamp Case by Stampin' Up!

I used Glue Dots to adhere Come Sail Away Trinkets onto 1" card stock circles for game pieces. I then used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere magnet piece to back of each game piece.Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper, Come Sail Away Trinkets, & Full Wide Stamp Case by Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! Dinoroar Designer Series Paper is a fun and colorful choice for another DIY Tic-Tac-Toe game.Dinoroar Designer Series Paper & Full Wide Stamp Case by Stampin' Up!

Here's a mini Tic-Tac-Toe game I made for children a bit older. I used a Stampin' Up! Mini Pizza Box. Why not plan a family night of making homemade pizzas and Tic-Tac-Toe games? Choose a game style that meets the ages of your children. Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper

I never would have thought to put Real Red and Pretty Peacock together, but I love it! It's fresh and fun - an unexpected surprise! I hope you like it as much as I do!

Just Breathe

Like many people, I've spent my life taking care of others, being there for others, giving to others. While all that is good and has brought me many blessings and great joy, it has also caused me to at times (ok, many times) neglect myself. So, now in my 50's, I've been working on self-care, and yes, it has been tough. I'm getting better at it, though. I'm paying more attention to my physical and mental health. I'm drinking more water, spending time in quiet prayer each day, getting more sleep (but still not enough). I've taken up running and really am starting to enjoy it. I sometimes skip some at-home-work to enjoy a glass of wine, a bowl of popcorn, and a movie or favorite show. I've been blasting music in my car going to and from work. (I was always telling my girls to turn the radio down in the car. What was I thinking???) I give myself permission to take a walk or ride my bike or just sit on the patio with my feet up BEFORE I mow the lawn. I might treat myself to a bubble bath and put my pj's on by 7pm. I hope that in doing all these things and many more, I'm becoming the best ME I can be. It is my hope that I'm showing my daughters that it is not selfish to take care of yourself. In fact, it is necessary for our well-being, leads us to peace and joy, and helps us to take better care of others.

I used my creativity, love of paper crafting, and some of my favorite Stampin' Up! products to make this home decor piece for myself. I have it displayed in my house where I see it everyday. It's pretty, it's inspiring, and, most importantly, it reminds me to take time for self-care so that I can achieve my goal of being the best ME that I can be.

Apple Orchard pics & scrapbook pages

Last weekend, my daughter Andrea and sister Joan and I went apple picking. The weather was gorgeous, the outing fun, and the apples delicious. This apple picking venture inspired me to use the Harvest Hellos Stamp Set and coordinating Apple Builder Punch for some awesome projects. Check them out in the recent Facebook Live video below.

Ok, I'm just going to say it now. before you watch the video. This Apple Builder Punch is THE BEST!  I knew I would love it. I just didn't know how much!

(Unfortunately, the internet cut out at the very end of my Facebook Live so the video ends a bit too soon. We can do our best, but don't have control over what the internet may do during a Live video.)
