2019-2021 In Colors Feed

Color Combinations You Never Thought Of

If you're like many people, color combinations can be difficult. This is one of the biggest stumbling blocks I see in many stampers and crafts. It sure was me for a looooong time. A Color Coach is a very useful tool, and I'm grateful that Stampin' Up! has a downloadable PDF Color Coach available to demonstrators to share with our customers and viewers. It contains 3 different color combinations for each of our core colors and for each of our current In Colors as well.

In the following FB Live video replay, I show you how to cut and assemble your Stampin' Up! Color Coach once you've printed the PDF's. I also demonstrate how I use mine in designing cards, etc. This wonderful resource opens up a whole new world of color combinations for you to do your best creating.

There are 2 parts to the SU! Color Coach, thus 2 PDF's. The first is for all our current Core Colors including all the Brights, Neutrals, Regals, and Subtles. The second PDF is for the 2019-2021 In Colors and the 2020-2022 In Colors.

One of the newest additions to my Stampin' Peace Online Business is Make It with Mary Mondays on my Facebook Stampin' Peace VIP Group. I've had 2 Make It with Mary events so far and am loving this. Each Monday, I'll post a short list of card stock/DSP with dimensions for you to bring to your craft table with basic stamping supplies by 8am. Gather your supplies and a cup of coffee then come craft with me at 11am EST. I'll present a different card sketch/layout each week. Paper Piecing with Tropical Oasis DSP

Paper Piecing so much fun. It's very easy to do and takes your card making to a whole new level, plus it gives us another way to use our beautiful Designer Series Papers that we've collected. In today's cards, I used Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper for my Paper Piecing cards below. I love the tropical prints of the little girls' dresses!

If you'd like to see my recent demonstration on the Paper Piecing Technique, check out the post by clicking here.

Sponging Technique with Feels Like Frost DSP

Having grown up in the Cleveland, Ohio area enjoying Lake Erie in the summer and lake effect snow in winter, I love a good snowfall and always dream of a white Christmas! No school snow days were a big deal...even for my dad who was a high school teacher. Dad would even flood our back yard in the winter making a skating rink for us. We'd spend our winter days skating and playing outside making snow forts, snowmen, and snow angels. I still make a pretty darn good snow angel...just sayin. Fortunately, my own kids loved snow days as much as I did growing up...sledding was there favorite snowy day activity. I remember calling their snow days from school, "drop everything & play days" because that's what we did.

I made this card with all those snowy day memories in mind.

You can download a free project sheet to make this card too. Download Project Sheet - Free Skate meets Feels Like Frost DSP.

I've also included a link to a previous post where I demonstrated making this card using the Sponging Technique so be sure to check that out as well. http://bit.ly/2XafSmH

Harvest Hellos, Apple Builder Punch, and Come to Gather Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

This card created by my friend and Stampin' Up! demonstrator Tamra Davis was the inspiration for my #applepicking 2-page scrapbook layout. I never would have thought to put Real Red and Pretty Peacock together, but I love it! It's fresh and fun - an unexpected surprise! I hope you like it as much as I do!

First Frost Fun Fold Card...say that 3 times fast!

Frost is part of my morning views here in the midwest this time of year. Stampin' Up! has done a fabulous job capturing such scenes in its Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper, and there is so much to love about this paper and all the products in the Feels Like Frost Suite. One side of each 6" x 6" sheet of Feels Like Frost Specialty DSP is a photo-realistic image of the simple beauty of nature touched by frost. The opposite side is a simple pattern in Metallic Silver and Whisper White. Both sides of all sheets bring so many creative ideas to mind. I can't wait to put more of them to work for me.

In the meantime, I'd like to show you my take on the Feels Like Frost Scenery Cards inspired by my SU! demonstrator friend, Rachel Tessman. The cards I demonstrate in my video make the most of the photo realistic scenes. In fact, these fun fold cards use all but a 3/4" of each 6" x 6" piece of this specialty DSP. I hope you enjoy my creative sharing in my video below which I shared in a past Facebook Live.

Pressed Petals for a Special Couple

Today, Friday, October 4th, a special young couple commit themselves to one another as they get married. I'll be attending the wedding of two of my daughter Emily's best friends from Mason High School. Emily is Maid of Honor at Morgan & Lincoln's wedding. I've watched these "kids" and their friendships grow since middle school. I'm happy to be attending this special occasion and am excited to share this gift of love for the new Mr. and Mrs.

Introducing Mercury Glass Designer Acetate

Mercury Glass. It sure has been popular in home decor for several years and more recently in the craft world. And now Stampin' Up! has Mercury Glass too.

Mercury Glass Designer Acetate...I've never worked with it until now, and now I'm a lover of Mercury Glass Designer Acetate.

I'll admit I was a little intimidated by it at first. Crazy, I know, but true. How would I use it? What would I make with it? And so, it sat on a shelf for 2 months...yes, 2 months! Finally, I just decided I needed to go for it. To put this new phenomenon, I mean product, to work for me. The end result is what you will see in the video below. I loved demonstrating this fancy new Mercury Glass Designer Acetate on Tuesday's Stamp 'n Scrap with Mary Knabe Facebook Live and look forward to using it again. In fact, my head is spinning with ideas.

Now, watch and enjoy my demonstrations using Stampin' Up!'s new Mercury Glass Designer Acetate! I think you may just want to add some to your next order. And when you do, I hope you'll share your Mercury Glass projects with me!
